Nestled in the center of downtown Burien is one of the last bastions of taste. The Elliot Bay Brewery (EBB) offers a cornucopia of fine crafted beers and a bevy of buxom bar food to satisfy the most robust of Pacific Northwest appetites. On this trip, we had the Blackened Ahi Tuna Sandwich. The complex spices and chipotle aioli mixed well with the pan-seared tuna and were complemented by the EBB’s Caesar salad. The salad is worth mentioning due to the fact it was served with both shredded and peeled parmesan cheese. The opposing textures were quite delightful on the tongue.

The other sandwich we ordered was the Chili Cheese Burger. I normally don’t go in for this sloppy sammich but something spoke to me in the menu. This gracefully grilled burger was topped with a decent house chili and smothered in sour cream and salsa. The multi-colored corn chips gave it a festive look and a wonderfully complex taste. This monster was ably supported by the house’s spiced fries and a large frothy pint of the Hoppus Calossum Dbl. IPA. This comfort food and awesome ale was served by a friendly (albeit busy) wait staff in a cozy, pub-like atmosphere. If you are looking for a fun and casual place with good food, visit one of their three King County locations.
