Turkey Brine

Ingredients:

1 cup salt

1 cup brown sugar

2 oranges, quartered

2 lemons quartered

6 sprigs thyme

4 sprigs rosemary

 

Place cold water into a cooler large enough to fit your turkey. Mix all ingredients into the water.(I often put in more oranges and lemons and whatever handful of herbs I cut from the garden).  Add lots of ice to brine. Submerge turkey. Leave turkey in brine mixture overnight.

Turkey Brine

 

Preheat oven 325 degrees. Remove turkey and rinse off the excess herbs. Brush Turkey with melted butter about every 1-2 hours while baking. Follow cooking times based on turkey weight. Enjoy!
