Steilacoom WA Real Estate
Steilacoom has the distinction of being the oldest incorporated town in Washington (1854). The entire town is on the national register of historical places! Steilacoom also gave Washington its first Protestant church (1853), first library (1858) and first jail (1858). Located south of Tacoma along the Puget Sound, Steilacoom’s visitor attractions included the 1857 Nathaniel Orr Home with its Original Furnishings; Steilacoom Museum with its collection of 1860-1900 pioneer artifacts; Bair Drug & hardware Store, built in 1895, plus a 1905 soda fountain; and Steilacoom Tribal Cultural Center and Museum.
